At the edge of the "quartier Bas", Notre Dame en l'Isle was built on a land surrounded by canals, which was known as the "island" of Troyes. A priory was founded here in 1222, it was then used as a prison during the Terror and the first empire. It now shelters the great seminar and the Diocèse of Troyes. It has been recently restored.
