The "Hotel of the Small Louvre",
formerly called Hotel of the Rise (14th century), bordered the first ramparts of the City.
It was inhabited in particular by the Hennequin family, whose coat of arms forms the door
knocker on rue de la Montée St Pierre. Its semi circular tower gives an idea of it what
could resemble the city's gates on the ramparts. At the beginning of the 19th century, it
sheltered a carriage service. |
